CARE BEARS "BEARLY AWAKE" DESIGN

This is my design entry for the Care Bears Fan Forge at WeLoveFine.

The piece involves Grumpy Bear looking tired, about to drink from his mug of hot cocoa.

​

I knew that the Care Bears brand was loved by all ages, yet a lot of their merchandise is aimed at children or women.

I wanted to make something that's relatable to all, and everyone hates getting out of bed sometimes.

The design was selected as a winner by guest judge Harry Chaskin,

the voice of Bedtime Bear in the 'Care Bears: Unlock the Magic' TV show.

Here is what Harry had to say about the work: 

“This design resonated with me conceptually more than anything else. It seemed like it would be popular with adult fans of the property, and I like that it has a little attitude/edge while still retaining the cute appeal of show. I'm also a sucker for puns.”
